Just a quick hello to anyone who's ended up here thanks to WisConline! It's been a real joy to dedicate the weekend to fannish conversations; I haven't been to the in-person con since 2011, but this has made me want to prioritize going back.

This DW is a straightforward personal journal for the most part, with occasional media reviews and thoughts about fannish stuff; it's mostly locked, but I'm happy to meet new people & get more activity on the reading list.

*waving from Wiscon* I had planned to go to 2 fannish cons in Australia this year, and both are cancelled, one did some online stuff but I wasn't in the headspace. I'm glad I got to do this, I think it gave me a sense of whether Worldcon is worth attempting - I'm still on the fence given the difficulty in having content, engagement, tech and so on work well for such a large and disparate body.

I'm so glad you were able to make it! I've gone to two in-person WisCons, 2004 and 2011, and they felt like entirely different eras of the con, and now this was something brand new again.

I do have a hard time imagining how it would work for a much larger event, which I assume WorldCon is, though I guess I don't know how many people generally go!

It's definitely going to be interesting for them - and an interesting year in general for cons.
