I have been reading a lot of fic! I received Grand Budapest Hotel fic:

The Story History Will Forget (2128 words) by Anonymous
Chapters: 1/1
Fandom: The Grand Budapest Hotel (2014)
Rating: Teen And Up Audiences
Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply
Relationships: Agatha/Zero Moustafa
Characters: Agatha (The Grand Budapest Hotel), Zero Moustafa, Gustave H., Original Characters
Additional Tags: AU, Alternate Ending, Canon Divergence, Character Background, Yuletide 2014
Summary: Agatha's story, from her point of view, with an alternate ending.

I love Agatha a lot, and it's a pleasure to see her get the spotlight to herself for once.

Here are some favorites of the other stuff I've read:

Patience, Friend (3497 words) by Anonymous
Chapters: 1/1
Fandom: Temeraire - Naomi Novik
Rating: General Audiences
Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply
Characters: Langford James, Volatilus
Additional Tags: Dragons, Backstory, Hatchlings, Yuletide, Yuletide Treat, Yuletide 2014
Summary:

“Volly! Good name, Volly? Good name, good dragon?”

“Yes,” James said, and laid his hand on his dragon’s head. "Good name, good dragon.”

No one pays much attention to Greyling hatchings, except of course the boys to whom they mean everything.
[This is the cutest dragon-hatching story you could wish for, with great touches of character and setting. Very little canon knowledge is required to understand it, too, which is a bonus since I dropped off reading this series after I lost track of what was happening in the wars.]

We Shall Never Lack the Means of Life (1844 words) by Anonymous
Chapters: 1/1
Fandom: Spiders Georg, Dracula - Bram Stoker
Rating: Teen And Up Audiences
Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply
Relationships: R.M. Renfield/Spiders Georg
Characters: R.M. Renfield, Spiders Georg (Character)
Additional Tags: Zoophagy, Spiders, Bugs & Insects, Victorian, Caves, Switzerland, Mountains, Yuletide, Yuletide Treat, Yuletide 2014
Summary:

“Never before have I met another who shares my appreciation for Arachnida as sustenance. I am, you see… something of, how do you say? —The term in Hochdeutsch would be ein Sonderfall.

“An outlier,” Renfield translated.

“Yes,” said Georg; “an outlier.”

[SPIDERS GEORG MEETS RENFIELD, and then there is some linguistic geekery, what else do you want out of life.]

Summer's End (1383 words) by Anonymous
Chapters: 1/1
Fandom: Sound of Music (1965)
Rating: General Audiences
Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply
Characters: Liesl von Trapp
Additional Tags: Anschluss
Summary: Liesl may be innocent and naive when it comes to the world of men, but she knows this is important.
[Nicely expands on the sort of handwaved nationalistic politics of The Sound of Music.]

A moment of perversion (1543 words) by Anonymous
Chapters: 3/?
Fandom: The Left Hand of Darkness - Ursula K. Le Guin
Rating: Teen And Up Audiences
Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply
Relationships: OC/OC
Characters: OC - Character
Additional Tags: Hermaphrodites, Perversion, Social Issues, Canon Compliant, Isolation, Estrangement, Sexual Content
Summary: The people who live on the fringes - the outcasts, the perverts.
[This could take place before or during or after the novel; it does a bit of additional worldbuilding and plays around with what it would feel like to be a Gethenian.]

Tomorrow and Tomorrow (6459 words) by Anonymous
Chapters: 1/1
Fandom: Dark Is Rising Sequence - Susan Cooper
Rating: Not Rated
Warnings: Creator Chose Not To Use Archive Warnings
Characters: Will Stanton, Bran Davies (Dark Is Rising), Jane Drew, Barney Drew
Summary: "So," Will says at last. "Same time next year?"
[Some people like Dark is Rising fix-its; personally I prefer the stories that work within the strictures of the books. This is an excellent canon-compliant follow-up about how an Old One might struggle to stay human.]

Building the Four Quarters of the Circle (1487 words) by Anonymous
Chapters: 1/1
Fandom: Dark Is Rising Sequence - Susan Cooper
Rating: General Audiences
Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply
Characters: Merriman Lyon, Will Stanton, The Lady (Dark Is Rising), Arthur Pendragon, John Wayland Smith
Summary: Merriman gathers the Signs.
[Another good canon-compliant fic, this one pre-series; I'm always happy to see a little more of Merriman.]

The Whitehall Affair (5219 words) by Anonymous
Chapters: 1/1
Fandom: Aubrey-Maturin Series - Patrick O'Brian, Master and Commander - All Media Types
Rating: General Audiences
Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply
Relationships: Jack Aubrey/Sophie Williams, Stephen Maturin/Diana Villiers
Characters: Jack Aubrey, Sophie Williams, Stephen Maturin, Diana Villiers, Sir Joseph Blaine
Additional Tags: Spies & Secret Agents
Summary: “Why, Stephen,” Diana said, teasing. “Anyone would think you had some secret mission you were planning.”
[I should really read the Master & Commander books properly, considering how much I enjoy all the characters in this story.]

Beyond the Ninth Wave (3915 words) by Anonymous
Chapters: 1/1
Fandom: Wise Child Series - Monica Furlong
Rating: General Audiences
Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply
Characters: Juniper (Wise Child series), Wise Child (Wise Child series), Finbar (Wise Child series), Original Characters
Summary: After being driven from their home by Fillan Priest, Juniper and Wise Child adjust to a new life on Finbar's ship. Post-Wise Child.
[Beautiful character work and vivid sense of life on the sea in a medieval setting.]

Take a Light (601 words) by Anonymous
Chapters: 1/1
Fandom: Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell - Susanna Clarke
Rating: General Audiences
Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply
Characters: Vinculus, John Childermass
Summary: Childermass and Vinculus met a Lady at the crossroads.
[A treat; things never have been easy for Childermass, have they?]

In Which Morwen's Cats Have a Valid Point (1025 words) by Anonymous
Chapters: 1/1
Fandom: Enchanted Forest Chronicles - Patricia Wrede
Rating: General Audiences
Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply
Relationships: Morwen/Telemain
Additional Tags: Fluff
Summary: To be more precise, in which Morwen's cats have a valid point regarding the feasibility of eliminating sundry household obstacles through magic.
[One of the other prompts I suggested was for Morwen/Telemain married life, so it's especially delightful to see someone else requested it and got it.]

Most Valued and Distinguished (1310 words) by Anonymous
Chapters: 1/1
Fandom: The Grand Budapest Hotel (2014)
Rating: General Audiences
Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply
Characters: M. Gustave - Character, The Author, Original Male Character(s)
Additional Tags: Pre-Canon, Backstory, Illustrated
Summary: It has been one hour and thirty-seven minutes since the author's Remington clanked out this: Appendix B: M. Gustave's Formative Years, An Abbreviated Account.
[Another Grand Budapest Hotel fic, this time about Monsieur Gustave's childhood; short, sharp, admirably well-tuned to the rhythms and world of the movie.]
